Phytobiotics North America, LLC Ruminants and Swine Business Leader Flavio Ribeiro has always had a love for agriculture and teaching the future generation about livestock production. Ribeiro believes one of the most important things in life is to understand the concept of “farm to plate.” He said, “Cooking is a huge part of our industry and it is important to understand how we can continue to innovate our products.”
Ribeiro and Phytobiotics recently held a cooking event for Alex Wilson, also known as Ag Alex, a young agricultural entrepreneur. Students were able to experience cooking with different cuts of meat and seasonings to enhance the flavors. Students helped cut the meat, place it on skewers, set up the pits and cook. “It was an opportunity for students to learn about a different style of cooking that has become quite popular,” Ribeiro said.
Ribeiro has known Wilson for a few years and met her for the first time at the Houston Rodeo Ag Science Fair when he was a judge. “I was really impressed with her love and knowledge of the livestock industry,” Ribeiro said.
Last year, Ribeiro and a few others met with Wilson and a few of her friends — also students who compete in various agricultural competitions — and hosted a Brazilian BBQ Demonstration.
